How we can help.

How does NWFRG work with NWAS?

NWFRG is an independent charity supporting volunteers who respond on behalf of North West Ambulance Service. NWAS recruits, trains, equips, clinically governs and tasks its Community First Responders. NWFRG is not an ambulance trust or an NWAS CFR scheme provider.

How can I volunteer?

Explore current roles through our recruitment portal. CFR expressions of interest help us understand local interest; NWAS handles recruitment for Community First Responders.

Can I book CPR and AED awareness?

Use our session booking website to request a free community awareness session. The team will discuss availability and suitable arrangements with you.

Can anyone attend an advertised event?

Check the event label. Open to everyone means public attendance is welcome. Booking required means you should use the event booking link. Private sessions are shown for information and are not open for public attendance.

How can I support the charity?

You can donate through our JustGiving page, enquire about sponsorship or equipment donations, or get involved in fundraising and community activities.

Can you help with a community defibrillator?

Contact our team about supporting a community Public Access Defibrillator. Choose Defibrillators on the contact form and tell us your area.

How can I thank a volunteer?

Use our Say thank you form. You do not need an account. Your message goes to the Hub for review and can be shared with the volunteer as recognition.

Is the contact form for emergencies?

No. For an emergency, call 999. Website enquiries and session requests are not monitored as an emergency service.
